The article, "Mary Poppins, practically perfect in every way", is about the production that Bowie High school put on for this semester. The newspaper told the summary of the play for readers who may not have seen the movie or the play. The article gets different views on the play from the actors, teachers, and audience. The article also talked about the hardships that went into putting on the production and what it took to put it all together. It told who the main actors were and gave quotes from the audience members about their favorite numbers.

who: The article talked mainly about the actors and produces of the play which include senior Madeline Sparks, freshman Riley McCue, senior Emily Robinett, and teacher Courtney Hall.

what: This article was about a production put on by the Starlight Production at Bowie High School.

where: The production was at Bowie High School.

when: The article was published February 9th 2018, but it does not say in the article when the plays were put on.

why: This article does not state why the production went on, but the reader can infer that it is because the students are either having a fun hobby, or preparing for life outside of high school.

how: The play was put on by help with the tech crew and theatre teacher Courtney Hall.

who was quoted in the story: This article features quotes from the lead actor in the play, an audience member, and Courtney Hall, the teacher helper.

what quote was strongest and where did that quote appear: The strongest quote in this article would have to be the one from the audience member because it says great things about the play and is not biased as one would be from the teacher or one of the actors. The quote appeared in the last third of the article.

did the lead sentence make you want to keep reading: The lead sentence was not terribly exciting, but the second sentence was interesting because it was talking about the past shows that Bowie put on which I could relate to because I saw those plays so it was interesting to me but might not be to another reader.

This article compares school life from 1989 to present day in 2018. They talk about things like cliques and how they have changed and stayed the same over time. There are many quote from teachers who I can assume went to Bowie when they were in high school or have been teaching here for all that time to be able to see the changes that happen first hand. Topics like bullying and mental health were also brought up and compared from the different generations.

who: The article mainly focuses on high school students over time. The article also includes quotes from teachers.

what: The article focuses on the differences between the academic lives of high schoolers now versus high schooler a while ago. The visual next to the article focuses on pop culture like favorite artists and songs and things like that.

where: This article doesn't focus on a specific high school where this was observed, but the teacher that was interviewed for the story is from Bowie High School.

when: This story talks about the similarities and differences between high schoolers from 2017 and the 1980's.

why: The purpose of this article might be to inform high schoolers now of what their parent's school lives were like, or even to inform parents of how their children's school lives are different than theirs were.

how: Student life at Bowie High School in 1989 was different from life here in 2018 in many ways. One way is that in 1989, students had lots more free time than students now do. This has to do with the amount of homework given out, the different extracurricular, and many other reasons.

who was quoted in the story: A teacher from Bowie High School, Wendy Uzzle, was quoted about how her high school life differs from her students high school lives.

what quote was strongest and where did it appear: The strongest quote is, "There's so much preparation for one thing or another that people barely have time to just sit down and have dinner with their families.", from Wendy Uzzle. This quote is bigger than the other text and appears near the beginning of the article.

did the lead sentence make you want to keep reading: The lead sentence did make me want to keep reading because it began with a statement for the reader to think about. The statement was, "Think about a movie from the 80's, any movie. A John Hughes Film, a cult classic, a cheesy adventure plot." This was interesting because it gets the reader thinking about it and makes them want to keep reading.

This article is about the Apple company slowing down it's older phones in order to "help with battery life". Most people think that they are doing this to promote their new phones because the old phones are always slowed down right when the new phone is announced. Customers are angry at the company and some people are even suing them because of this.

who: The article is written by commentary editor, Ian Miller, and is written about the Apple company.

what: This article is about how the Apple company has admitted to slowing down their old phones as soon as they release a new phone. Many customers are angry about this.

where: This update to slow down old iPhones took place all over the US and other countries.

when: The article doesn't say when Apple admitted to slowing down the iPhones.

why: Apple claimed they slowed down their old phones to elongate the life of the batteries in the phones, but customers have other thoughts. People think that the company only does it to promote their new iPhone or product that came out.

how: Apple slowed down the iPhones by installing a large software update to the older phones to "improve battery life" when it just slows them down.

who was quoted: At the bottom of the page, there are five people from Bowie High School quoted about how they feel about Apple slowing down their phones. A freshman, a sophomore, a junior, a senior, and even a teacher all gave a quote with the same idea that they feel Apple shouldn't have done what they did.

what quote was strongest and where did it appear: The strongest quote is at the bottom of the page separated from the actual story and it reads, "It's a good marketing tactic, but as a company they shouldn't do that because it makes people not trust them".

did the lead sentence make you want to keep reading: The lead sentence didn't particularly hook me into reading the story but that may be because  I had already heard about Apple slowing down the phones before, but I assume it would be interesting to someone who hadn't heard of it before.
