Self-Portrait VS. Selfie
1. A selfie is a picture that someone takes by themselves of themselves that is not meant to last.
2. A self-portrait is a painting, picture, or drawing of someone made by the subject of the art that is meant to last.
3. There are slight differences. One is that a self-portrait is considered art while a selfie is considered just a picture that can be deleted if need be. Also, some would argue that selfies aren't meant to last because they can be deleted easily and self-portraits are meant to last since they are pieces of artwork.
4. I prefer selfies over self portraits because self-portraits tend to be more serious and selfies tend to be more light hearted.
5. I don't think one is more important or valuable than the other. Self-portraits came before selfies but that doesn't mean that one is better than the other, but it also means that both are important to society and neither should be lost.
Review of FStoppers:
This website is really cool! It has many sections that are all devoted to making the reader a better photographer. There's an entire section of the latest best photos taken. It shows you a ton of subjects that you can search the picture by. For example, if you were looking for a portrait picture for inspiration, you could search the word portrait so that you only get what you are looking for.
Another section of the website is filled with articles and videos containing tips and tricks for your photography and workspace and ideas on things to shoot. That can be very helpful if you get to a block where you can't figure out what to do. There are also many articles from famous photographer giving advise to up and coming photographer which is also very helpful to anyone that wants to be in the business.
I would definitely add this website to my bookmarks because if I ever need advise or inspiration, it is at the click of a button. I would recommend this website to any new or experienced photographer because everyone can improve!

I would rate this website a 5 because it has everything I could think of that a website should have.
I chose to share this photo from the website FStoppers. This picture is one of many amazing pictures that can be found this website. If I was given an assignment to take portraits, I would have looked at that portion of the website and saw this picture as inspiration of what to shoot and the angles and colors to use. Of course I wouldn't copy it exactly but it would give me a good idea of what I could do similarly or differently.
