Phobia Project

1. A phobia is an anxiety disorder defined by a persistent fear of and object or a situation.

2.
aquaphobia- The fear of drowning or irrational fear of water
coulrophobia- The fear of clowns
iophobia- The fear of poison
hypsiphobia- The fear of heights
hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia- The fear of long words

3. A possible idea of a picture I could take for the phobia project could be for the fear of the dark. I could shoot a dimly lit street at night by street lights. That could give a scary feeling. My neighborhood has street lights so at night i could got outside and take a picture looking down the street and the picture will be lit up close but the further you look in the distance, the darker it gets.

Another idea is to focus of the fear of birds. Around dusk, all the grackles in the area go to certain shopping centers of grocery stores and line up on the tops of the buildings or on the power lines. Taking a picture of the birds at dusk could be creepy because it will be dark and you could only see the outlines of the birds.

One more idea could be for the fear of being alone. I could take a picture of someone by themselves maybe at an empty park bench taken from far away so that the viewer gets the feeling of being alone. I could take the picture of one of my friends at a park that is near their house that is usually empty. This picture could be taken at dusk so that it's a little scary because it will be slightly dark.

4. For the fear of the dark picture, I could use leading lines because the sides of the street and the street lamps will create a line that you eye will follow until the picture isn't visible anymore because of the dark.

For the fear of birds picture, Leading lines would also be used because of the power lines that they sit on, but also simplicity will be used because the background will most likely be the sky or the sunset.

For the fear of being alone picture, I could use the rule of thirds by placing my subject on one side of the picture to really give the effect that no one else is around. Also, simplicity will be used because the background will likely be a forest or maybe just a playscape.
