A. I think this is the most powerful image from the website because you can see the emotion of everyone in the image, even if you can't see their face. Also, the picture uses balance because the people on the left side of the picture, who are probably the boy's parents, balance with the three boys on the right side.

B. The images work together to tell a story because you can tell what the story is by just looking at the pictures. The images are so powerful that the reader doesn't even need to read anything, they could just look at the pictures and it would give the same effect.

C. The captions enhance the photographs by explaining the emotions expressed in the pictures. The reader could tell what the story is behind the picture, but the captions helps to express the emotions and reasoning behind it.

D. Ian Fisher is an army recruit. He has trouble saying bye to his friends and family and isn't even sure if he wants to go through with it. Once he gets there, he still has the same thoughts, but he soon makes some friends, even with his sergeant. Once the boot camps phase was over, he fights for real. 

E. In the pictures where Ian is the main subject, the verbs in the captions are mostly in present tense.

F: 

1. Most of the captions are either 2 or 3 sentences.

2. In the first sentences of the captions, it is describing what is going on in the photo.

3. In the second sentences of the captions, it is providing background information you could not tell just by looking at the picture.

4. In the third sentences of the captions, it is mostly giving a quote by someone who is in the photo.

5. About 1/3 pf the pictures on this website contain a quote in the captions.

6. There is a picture with a quote that has five sentences instead of the typical three. 

G. I think it's possible to tell a complete story with just pictures and captions because the captions are the only background information you need if the picture has enough emotion and power to tell it's own story.

H. If you could create an entire story using only pictures and captions, you might also want to write a story because people who are interested in the story you are telling might want more background informations than just the one sentence in the captions.
