Aperture, Shutter Speed and IOS - What do they all mean?

1. The aperture of a camera is most closely related to human eyes because of the way the light enters it and is bent to let us see.

2. The small the aperture the bigger the area in focus. The larger the aperture the smaller the area in focus.

3. Aperture impacts the depth of field because the smaller the aperture is, the more foreground and background objects will be brought into focus. The bigger the aperture is, the more foreground will be sharp, and the background will be blurry.

2.  Aperture Priority: You must set the aperture to whatever you want and the camera will automatically set the shutter speed setting.

Shutter Priority: You must set the shutter speed to whatever you want and the camera will automatically set the aperture setting.

Manual Mode: You must set both the aperture setting and the shutter speed setting to whatever you want it to be.

ISO:

The photo on the left was taken at ISO 100 and the photo on the right was taken at ISO 6400.

1. An advantage of taking a picture at a higher ISO would be that you could capture the image in less time than if you took it with a lower ISO.

2. You could use a lower ISO whenever it is bright so you could make sure it is clear.

3. You should use a higher ISO when it is too dark to get a clear image.

DSLR Camera: 
Aperture Settings: F2.8, F4, F5.6, F8, F11, F16, F22
Shutter Speed Settings: 1 second, 1/60 of a second, 1/4000 of a second
ISO Settings: 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, 3200, 6400, 12800, 25600
