Academic Shoot Reflection and Critique
1. Some challenges I faced while attempting to use the rules of photography was avoiding mergers. In a classroom, there are many people, so it's hard to get one person in the picture without getting parts of other people in it.
2. I was most cautious about keeping my pictures is focus because in my last shoot, a lot of my photos came out blurry. I still had some blurry pictures but the majority of them were in focus.
3. If I could do this shoot again, I would take more pictures that focus more on one person at a time rather than a group of people because that makes it difficult to determine who the subject is.
4. If I could do this shoot again, what I would do the same is I would go to the same classrooms I went to during this shoot because there were lots of cool picture opportunities because in that classroom, they are usually playing games and having fun.
5. For my next shoot, I think the easiest rule to follow will be simplicity because all I need is a plain background and a focused subject which is typically easy to achieve.
6. The hardest rule to capture will be framing because to do that, I will need to get the right angle and have the subject be in focus and that's a lot of things to make sure you're doing simultaneously.
7. The one rule I'm still not totally sure I understand is balance because I don't know if the photo should be balanced or unbalanced to be considered a good photo. Something I could do to understand more is look at the powerpoint presentation on Mr. Reeves' blog or look up examples of photos that have balance.
